Building upon the ground breaking "zero jitter" DAC, comes NAIM's first Audiophile Streaming Network Player combining the same innovative rotating buffer technology of the DAC with the input flexibility/control of an audio streamer!

The NDX has both analogue and digital outputs, and as well as network music playback has onboard internet radio (using the vTuner 5* service), an optional FM/DAB module, three digital inputs and both digital iPod/iPhone input and USB playback.

It can be controlled by the handset supplied or a forthcoming version of Naim's n-Stream iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad app, which will also give control over the company's preamps.

Set to launch in November for £2995, we will exclusively have this on dem in Yeovil within our NEW store open now!

Rega have just launched the RP1, a replacement for the outgoing P1.

The RP1 features a number of enhancements including a new Tonearm and new platter. These have not only improved the visual appeal of the deck, but also significantly improved the sound. As a "Plug N Play" deck it seriously rivals the P2! Prices from £225.

Also on the horizon is Rega's first DAC. This features optical, coaxial, and USB inputs (for PC connection, not memory sticks). It will come in a newly styled "half width" enclosure.

This same half-size enclosure will form the basis for the new Brio, rumoured to surface in December!

Philips have produced a number of highly innovative, quality products in their history (eg their current LCD/LED lit TVs, highend CRTs, and very noteworthy hifi separates!), hidden within the more mundane general consumer gear.

With the MCI900 (above) 160GB Wifi Component Hifi and DS9000 ipod dock (below), there is a chance they've got a couple of sneaky hits on their hands!

The MCI900 uses "Soundsphere" speaker technology (where the speakers fire upwards) is a variation on what has been done before in the specialist hifi industry with great success. Add Wifi B/G/N, UPNP, 160GB Hard drive, DVD, plus Class D amplification, and it will set expectations high!

The DS9000 ipod dock is touted as being a premium ipod dock, and launching at £400, it will be in direct competition with the B&W Zeppelin!

What caught our attention was not only the solid wooden enclosure, but also "audiophile drive units", the tweeters of which look remarkably similar to the ones fitted to the mighty Naim N Sats!!!

All one seems to hear today is 'doom and gloom' and indeed there is not too much to make us smile in the current economic climate! But at Mike Manning Audio we have ways of making you smile. After all, we are smiling ourselves as we listen to some of the exciting new ways of bringing even greater enjoyment of music into our homes.

So what is making us, and our customers, smile in these moody times.

1). The REVELATION that is the Well Tempered Amadeus turntable! Not for many ,many years has a product caused so much fervour and excitement as this distinctively honest, thoughtfully designed, turntable and arm combination. Even when fitted with the budget priced Dynavector 10x5 cartridge this turntable extracts information in a way that is more musically coherent than ANY OTHER turntable/arm combination that we have ever heard. Even decks costing 3 or 4 times as much!

2). The new Naim integrated amplifier the SUPERNAIT.

An amplifier that proves most pre-power combinations in the £2000 - £3000 price bracket are not offering the most musical experience for the money, whilst offering upgrade-ablility, MASSIVE input flexibility and tremendous build quality (any magazine that denies it a superlative review based upon supposed poor build quality - despite it sharing the same chassis/controls of Naim's more expensive amplifiers - obviously has a hidden agenda to recommend something inferior!

Plus the new Nait XS (set to make similar waves at £1250) is now in our dem rooms too!!!

3) The NAIM Powerline mains lead

When a company like Naim brings out a new mains lead at £400 pounds you have right to expect something special, and the Powerline doesn't disappoint!

It brings improvements to ALL aspects of system performance. It represents a striking improvement to all Naim systems, one customer even commented that it "improved the sound of the HDX (Naim's HDD music player) to almost the same level as adding a 555 power supply"! High praise indeed!!!
