Externally there’s little difference between the RCD-06 SE and the CD player it replaces. The same sleek styling; the build quality that is remarkable at the price. However, internally, the RCD-06 SE has undergone major changes. Many of these are a direct result of developments made during the creation of the flagship 15 Series of Rotel hi-fi products, and this includes the replacement of the original Burr Brown DAC with a new model from Wolfson. Such care in component selection is RARE at this price!!

As the RCD-06 SE took a performance up a notch over it's predecessor, so the RCD-1520 improves in EVERY area over the outgoing RCD-1072. An upgraded transport mech, discrete component changes, and a move to a renowned Wolfson High Performance DAC, have all resulted in making the RCD-1520 a reference CD at this price.
Reviewed in a mediocre fashion by our favourite 'comic', we 'strongly' urge that you audition this cd player if it falls withing your price range.

RT-09

The RT-09 is very more than just an Internet tuner. Along with FM and DAB it is a digital gateway to all that streaming media has to offer. In addition a front panel USB input is provided for direct digital connection of an iPod or other USB class 2 devices. All digital sources bypass their typically inexpensive analog output stages in favor of the RT-09’s highly regarded Wolfson 24 bit/192kHz DAC and highend analog stage. Together, these features ensure that the listening options are virtually limitless and any music source is reproduced to the highest quality possible at this level.

At present there are over 15,000 Internet radio stations available and in order to keep favourite stations handy, the RT-09 includes 30 programmable presets for instantaneous access to FM, DAB and Internet broadcasts. The RT-09 also streams music files from a PC using Windows Media Player 11 or 12 over a Wi-Fi or wired LAN Ethernet connection, and can be controlled via bi-directional RS-232, as well as discrete IR. What is just as remarkable as the flexibility, performance and technology of the RT-09 is its affordability for such a sophisticated component. The RT-09 continues the Rotel tradition of offering value for money that is second to none.

RDG-1520

RCX-1500

The RCX-1500 CD player is the most versatile component Rotel have ever offered. Although it is an “all in one” model, compromise is not part of the design. The amplifier uses innovative Class D design that is highly efficient, runs cooler than older A/B designs and provides plenty of voltage and current to easily drive lower impedance speakers down to 4 ohms. With 100 watts per channel available, you can feel free to hook up large floor-standing loudspeakers to the RCX-1500.
The RCX-1500 is also a very high quality CD player, based on the outstanding RCD-1520. A front panel USB input for direct digital connection of an iPod or other USB class 2 devices is provided, too. The receiver’s tuner section includes both terrestrial FM and Internet radio, so your listening options are virtually limitless! The RCX-1500 supports both wired and WiFi Ethernet connections.
The RCX-1500, like the RDG-1520, supports UPnP technology and has been optimized for use with Windows Media Player 11 and 12. UPnP devices are “plug-and-play” in that when connected to a network they automatically announce their network address and supported device and services types, enabling clients that recognize those types to immediately begin using the device. Supported codecs include RealAudio®, WMA, MP3, AAC & AAC+ (non DRM), AU, WAV and AIFF.
