Mike Manning started his association with Naim Audio way back in the 70's when he, along with Paul Stephenson, formed a relationship with Julian Vereker and Naim Audio that was to last until the present day.
We have a firm belief that no one company can produce a range of products that are perfect in every way. Naim Audio come VERY close. Ask any of our Naim customers from over all of these years.
Naim Audio and their staff take huge pride in what they do that seems to outshine all their 'so-called' competitors. We are proud to share in this and be able to offer our customers a range of Hi-Fi (home entertainment) products that almost always out-perform the alternatives.
Valued customer comments....
Hi Mike,
Many, many thanks for setting up my new Naim system.
It is absolutely splendid. Your recitation of those magic words and your witchcraft obviously worked.
Initially, I was apprehensive but as soon as the new system reached room temperature and I moved the speakers a bit further out into the room, things improved dramatically.
I have just played Heifetz's recording of the Brahms Violin Concerto (1955). What a revelation and what a recording!
I am really pleased. Do keep in touch.
Regards,
Wilton Wills

Naim Nait 5i-2

There’s a long Naim tradition of the NAIT Integrated Amplifier punching above its weight. It began with the original NAIT in 1983 and continues now with the NAIT 5i-2.
Although the recent introduction of the SUPERNAIT represents the current state-of the-art for integrated designs, the NAIT 5i-2 is a superb and cost-effective introduction to the Naim sound for those who don't require the SUPERNAIT's advanced features and capabilities.
Naim Nait 5XS
The Nait XS is so much more than it's unassuming appearance suggests. Behind the 5 Series sized casework lies a design based on the analogue stages of the mighty Supernait!
Considering it was known as the Nait Speed, it's no wonder that it offers better pace, timing and power than the 5i-2!
With ample power on tap, RCA connections alongside (preferable) DINs, and optional upgrade possibilities (via power supplies or power amps), the Nait XS is truely an amp for either Naim or non-Naim systems alike.
SUPERNAIT

The Supernait marked the start of Naim's movement into catering for the new ways people were beginning to listen to music via PCs, Servers, Freeview/Satellite/DAB hardware etc by incorporating a high quality on-board DAC (digital to analogue converter) to process the data from the available from the digital outputs from those devices.
Not that this is the Supernait's only headline talent, it also represents the pinnacle of integrated amplification at this price level. More power, more definition, greater authority and poise over the Nait XS, alongside upgrade potential via power supplies or power amplifiers, secures the Supernait's position as a groundbreaking amplifier.
NAIM CD 5i-2

The new Naim CD5i-2 CD player, especially when partnered by the complementary NAIT 5i-2 integrated amplifier, sets a thrilling new standard for the musical performance of entry-level hi-fi.
Designed by the same team that produced the world's finest CD player, the fabulous Naim CD555, the Naim CD5i-2 benefits both from shared technology and the shared passion to extract every last grain of music from the disc that it's playing
NAIM CD5XS

The New Naim CD5XS CD Player uses every possible development from earlier and more costly Naim CD players to help establish it as the reference entry-level upgradeable CD player.
All XS Series products have the new 5 series brushed aluminium front panel and where performance gains could be made to the existing designs, these have been implemented. The drawer and transport suspension is borrowed from the CDX2; a low inertia, resonance-controlling device that ensures rigid coupling and mild damping without adding to the task of the drive servo mechanism by increasing rotational inertia.
Thanks to the BNC digital ouput it can be upgraded by addition of the new Naim DAC, as well as having the usual connectivity for power supply upgrades.
NAIM CDX-2

Extensive research carried out over the last few years has been fully employed in producing the latest version of the CDX2 CD player. Naim has made as few compromises as possible to ensure that the CDX2 offers complete musical satisfaction, rivalling that of the finest analogue turntables.
Along with component and PCB upgrades, the CDX2 now also features a BNC digital output so it can be partnered with the new Naim DAC with stunning results!
Also, thanks to the burndy-type upgrade socket, further performance can be gained from adding a XPS or even PS555 power supply!
NAIM CDS3

Twelve years after Naim revolutionised the design of Compact Disc players, the new CDS3 sets a new standard for high quality Compact Disc replay.
All the trademark features of a Naim player are brought together in the CDS3 along with a host of new and innovative engineering solutions pioneered during the development of the flagship NAC552 and NAP500 amplifiers. Together with the elegant styling, the result is a new reference.
A power supply is mandatory for the CDS3, and the XPS is it's natural partner.
NAIM CD 555 + PPS

The Naim CD555 + 555PS Reference CD Player makes no attempt to play DVDs, DVD-As or SACDs. It doesn't have a digital output. Nor does it have a variable output. The CD555 simply plays CDs and at that it excels.
The battleship construction, and inclusion of the reference Hi-Line and Powerline cables, only adds further performance and pride in ownership.
Naim are confident that the CD555 delivers the ultimate musical performance from a CD.

Naim NDX Network Player
Guide Price £2995.00 (DAB/FM board is an optional extra)
The NDX is a high-end network player designed to match Naim's reference series products. For an existing Naim owner one might expect to see a NDX sitting in a Naim Fraim equipment support system alongside a CDX2 or CDS3 CD player. Naim envisage the owners of the NDX using it, primarily, as a high-end quality streamer playing back music ripped from CDs or hi-res music downloaded from the many online stores.
Technically, the NDX draws significantly from the hugely successful Naim DAC. The innovative and SHARC DSP-based buffering with fixed clocks is utilised along with 16 times oversampling and NaimÕs proprietary, low-generated noise, digital filtering algorithms.
The NDX adds far more to a system than just streaming. It includes three S/PDIF digital inputs to support connection from computers to set top boxes to CD players.
It includes internet radio Ð the radio of the future Ðsupported by vTunerÕs five star full service. Search for stations by genre, location or just simply by name. New stations add automatically to the searchable database. Add special favourites or less common feeds to Ôadded stationsÕ via the special Naim webpages.
Connect an iPhone or iPod digitally to allow the NDX to control and play all the stored music, podcasts or audiobooks. Play music on a USB stick, even hi-resolution WAV or FLAC files, with full onscreen control.
Control the NDX with the front-panel buttons, the supplied remote control or an iPhone or iPod Touch running the optional n-Stream app. The app also allows control of a Naim systemÕs inputs and volume.
Choose the optional FM/DAB module to add terrestrial radio stations. Maybe your favourite radio station has yet to start its internet radio stream.

Customer comments:
"Hi Mike,
Got the NDX up and running tonight, as well as n-stream with no fuss whatsoever, surprisingly, considering I am a techno luddite!
It sounds absolutely fantastic already, even though it clearly has much more to give once ‘run-in’; it has just made my Cyrus CD XT SE/PSX-R completely redundant.
I think I will chance my arm with the Cyrus combo on ebay and put the proceeds towards some Ovators (well I can dream???).
Thanks again for the service and no doubt see you soon for some new Tellurium speaker cable.
Regards
JW from Dorset" |

Guide Price £1115
The Naim NAP 155 XS is the perfect companion to the Naim NAC 152XS preamplifier in an XS system. The Naim NAP 155XS Power amplifier features a very large mains transformer - both physically and in terms of its power rating - and at the heart of its power supply uses the same reservoir capacitors as the award-winning SUPERNAIT integrated amplifie
Naim NAP 200

Guide Price £1695
Like the flagship NAP 500, the NAP 200 uses a new circuit design with improved earthing arrangements built on a very high quality, anti-resonance main audio circuit board.Anti-vibration, resonance-controlling feet serve to protect the sensitive internal components from resonance and microphonic vibration.A new, top-quality 430VA toroidal transformer provides more than 300VA of transient power. Separate windings provide dedicated left and right channel rectified supplies with two smoothing capacitors per channel. The NAP 200 also has a separate winding providing a pre-amplifier power supply. This enables the NAP 200 to be used in a two-box amplifier configuration with a Naim pre-amplifier such as the NAC 202.
Naim NAP 250-2

Guide Price £3050
Like the flagship NAP 500, and the NAP 300, the NAP 250 uses a new circuit design with improved earthing arrangements, built on a very high quality, anti-resonance main audio circuit board. The NAP 250 uses the same 007 transistors that were custom-designed for the NAP 500. These outstanding components each provide up to 80 amps and 350 Watts, negating the need to use parallel pairs of transistors (which always have a negative effect on sound). Additional 007 transistors are used in the fully regulated power supply, ensuring the very best performance.
Naim NAP 300

Guide Price £6479
Like the flagship Naim NAP 500, the NAP 300 is a stereo two-chassis amplifier, one box containing the audio amplifier and the second housing the individually regulated power supply. Improved earthing arrangements have resulted in an entirely new circuit topology built on a very high quality, anti-resonance main audio circuit board. The NAP 300 uses the same 007 transistors that were custom-designed for the NAP 500. These outstanding components each provide up to 80 Amps and 350 Watts, negating the need to use parallel pairs of transistors (which always have a negative effect on sound). Additional 007 transistors are used in the fully regulated power supply, ensuring the very best performance.
Naim NAP 500

Guide Price £16783
Naim's design brief for the NAP 500 required an amplifier that could drive any load down to 2 Ohms for prolonged periods, deliver over 100W into 8 Ohms and sound better than the NAP135.
To avoid the compromises implied by the use of multiple sets of output devices, either in totem-pole or parallel configurations, the search was on for a very special output transistor. A bipolar transistor with a specification combination of very high current, power rating and bandwidth was needed, far in excess of anything available to Naim before. A suitable output device was eventually developed after six years' collaboration with a semiconductor manufacturer.
Needless to say, every aspect of the NAP 500's sound quality is truly exceptional.
Naim Flatcap XS

Guide Price £745
The new Naim FlatCap XS power supply is a dual-rail power supply that, either alone or in pairs, provides the most effective means to extract the ultimate performance from an XS system. One Naim FlatCap XS can be used to enhance the performance of a CD5 XS and a NAT05 XS, while a second could be deployed to supercharge the performance of the NAC 152 XS preamplifier. The vital role played by the power supply in any hi-fi system is a long held Naim conviction and it has no better demonstration than the increased musical fluency that the Naim FlatCap XS brings to a system.
Naim HiCap

Guide Price £1150
The audible benefits from adding a Hi-Cap are fundamental to the music: improving timing, dynamic range, clarity and order. Particularly complex music becomes both easier to understand and listen to. Inclusion of a Hi-Cap offers the additional benefit of allowing the pre-amplifier to be left switched on constantly, independently of the power amplifier, keeping the unit's complex circuitry fully stabilised at all times.
Naim XPS-2

Guide Price £3195
The Naim XPS2 power supply is required and comes as standard with the CDS3 but can also be added to the CDX2 CD player, providing a substantial improvement in sound quality and a possible upgrade path from one player to another. It also makes a worthwhile addition to the HDX hard disk player, where it delivers immediately appreciable performance benefits.Timing, dynamic range and clarity all significantly improve by adding a Naim XPS2 power supply to a CDX2. Complex passages become more understandable, bringing far more involvement and enjoyment from the music.
Naim SuperCap

Guide Price £3695
Each of the multiple power outputs use specially selected regulators for optimum performance. The Super-Cap can be used to power all of the Naim pre-amplifiers (except the NAC 552), phono stages and active crossovers and is the only choice for supplying power to the NAC 252 pre-amplifier.The addition of anti-vibration, resonance-controlling feet compliment the elegant new cast and extruded anti-magnetic chassis to protect the sensitive internal components from resonance and microphonic vibrationThe audible benefits from adding a Super-Cap are fundamental to the music: improving timing, dynamic range, clarity and order. Particularly complex music becomes both easier to understand and listen to. Inclusion of a Super-Cap offers the additional benefit of allowing the pre-amplifier to be left switched on constantly, independently of the power amplifier, keeping the unit's complex circuitry fully stabilised at all times.
Naim 555 PS

Guide Price £5450
The 555 PS power supply incorporates significant upgrades over the all the other designs in Naim's range. More regulators have been used to isolate the supplies to various parts of the circuit, minimising their interaction. With a transformer that's 40% bigger than even the XPS2, the 555 PS can significantly enhance the HDX, CDS3 and CDX2 in ALL aspects of musicality!
NAT05-XS

Guide price £1095
The superb quality of broadcast material came as an unexpected delight when Naim began serious investigations into the FM medium in the early eighties. The NAT05 XS continues the Naim tradition of producing the best sounding tuners in the world and is based on technology developed and refined by us over 25 years. It is fully remote controlled and has multiple presets for all your favourite stations. Clear and articulate with minimal noise, when correctly installed with a suitable aerial the NAT05 XS makes music like only a Naim tuner can.
FM remains the medium for the highest quality radio transmissions and the NAT05 XS is optimised to exploit FM like no other tuner. And if you want more, the NAT05 XS can be enhanced further through the simple addition of an external FlatCap XS power supply
Naim Headline

Guide Price £400 (exc psu)
The Headline is an amplifier designed to offer optimum performance from a variety of high impedance headphones.
Fitted with a captive lead, the Headline takes its signal from the tape socket of any of Naim's preamplifiers. It has its own volume control and is designed to keep noise very, very quiet. It has the ability to drive most headphones to an adequate level (loud!) with low distortion.
Headphones tend to be rather revealing of both noise and distortion, so Naim have spent a great deal of effort getting these parameters to extremely low levels.
The Headline needs to be used with an external power supply – the NAPSC is suitable. If using a Flat-Cap XS, Hi-Cap or Super-Cap you will also need a special interconnect, the SLIC.
Naim Stageline

Guide Price £300 (exc psu)
The Stageline is a separate phono stage, available in either moving coil or moving magnet versions, designed to optimise sound quality from a wide range of cartridges.
The Stageline can be powered either from a special socket on the rear of the NAIT XS or by a separate supply such as the Flat-Cap XS for even better performance.
Naim Superline

Guide Price £1925
Vinyl replay makes a huge contribution to the enjoyment of recorded music. At its best, vinyl has a uniquely engaging and musical quality, and with the launch of the SuperLine phono amplifier, the best of vinyl has just got better.
The SuperLine is a very high performance moving-coil phono amplifier built in the Naim aluminium reference enclosure with an anodised front and a power-coated cover. It brings all Naim's latest analogue electronic design and environmental isolation techniques to bear on the most delicate analogue element of any hi-fi system — the moving-coil phono signal.
SuperLine brings out all that's best in vinyl replay — timing, pitch accuracy, clarity, detail, and the unmistakable organic quality that records can deliver in abundance.
Naim Hi-Line

Guide Price £600
The brief was to investigate all parameters of a signal carrier: to improve the whole rather than just improving the cable as is the more normal development practice.
The Air-PLUG (patent pending) is designed as a decoupling device to stop vibrations from one product being transmitted, via the cable, to another product and to stop airborne vibrations being picked up by the cable being transmitted to the products it is connected to.
The result is hitherto unheard levels of information being maintained from source to amplifier, while still retaining all the musicality expected from Naim.
Naim Power-Line

Guide Price £450 (THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!)
The Power-Line's unique design is the result of hundreds of hours of experimentation, research and listening aimed at identifying and optimising the critical elements of audio mains power cables. Mechanical energy transmission, eddy current propagation and conductivity factors were all identified and numerous steps taken within the design to eliminate any negative influence.
The Power-Line mains plug features a thermoset resin case carrying floating pins that align for enhanced contact area. The stripped cable ends are secured by specially profiled clamp screws and the cable is both decoupled and clamped by an ingenious die-cast component that includes measures to suppress case eddy currents.
The Power-Line brings gains in ALL areas of system performance with its influence increasing as it is used on each component in a system. It represents a striking and significant upgrade for all Naim hi-fi systems.
